New Year Resolution : 1st January 2014

Hey Friends…

Happy New Year 2014…. And Just imagine, here we thought the world would end in 2012… and now it's already 2013!! Maybe the process is running a little late :P

Anyways, this time as my New Year Resolution, I thought of many ones… but you know what? New Year isn't the only day to take a resolution… if I am capable enough and of course willing enough, I can take a resolution at any day and as long as I keep it, it will be as good as a New Year Resolution!

However, I really considered a lot of resolutions…

1. I seriously need to work out and get as perfect as possible… In a few months, I will have my college farewell and it is no less than a Prom!! It goes needless to say, I want to look the best I have so far, at least in my college to all my friends. This is a perfectly nice resolution and also the one that I seriously need to make… but knowing myself, I am never going to do something drastic about it… and if we consider small bits here and there, I am doing much more than just few small bits. I have a long list of all the things I can do about it expect exercise and I am practically implementing everything - right from colour therapy to balancing my diet!

All in all, I am doing all I would if I took it up as a resolution, therefore, useless!!

2. I don’t know if I should mention it here or not and I don’t even know if this qualifies to be a resolution but this is something I did…. There is a certain person I really wanted to talk to. But he was also the same person I didn’t want as a part of my new year and neither do I want me to be a part of his. After all wishing and stuff in the hostel, I received his message. I don’t know what I did was correct or not but it took a lot of strength to stop myself from calling him and talking to him. Dear Lord, if you are listening, please… I really want you to give me a small gift (small for you, of course) in this new year… I want you to reduce the pain from both our memories. I wish to remember a friend with all the joys and not for the pain for whatever happened and more importantly, I want it for him. So, please God.

3. I considered it very seriously that I would carry only goodness inside my heart… Honestly - it's just a small thing that has been on my mind after watching 'Once Upon a time' where Regina shows Snow's heart starting to get black. Since then I am desperately trying to restore my heart to the actual colour. But knowing myself, I can never stop being evil… no matter how good I become! So even though this is one thing that I really want to do and I am also implementing it in my daily chores and habits but definitely it is a little far too stretched to be a resolution… therefore - LAWYERED!!

4. Finally I thought, like I mentioned before these points, it is important to do something, even if it is small… so I decided - I am going to blog each day!!

Yes folks… this is my New Year Resolution for 2014 - I am going to blog every day!

And I don’t say that I will post a new entry each day but at least I will spend some time daily to write down an entry. And even then, I don’t guarantee that I will be able to keep it… in that case - I will record anything interesting on paper and next time I find a system, I will definitely type it.

I know that my resolution might sound very small and silly to most but drops of water are capable of filling up the ocean. It might seem small, but blogging is a wonderful habit. Indeed, I just love doing it. Mostly out of laziness, I don’t blog often; I have so many ideas all bubbling inside me, waiting just to be written and shared with the world… so many stories all playing inside my head which need to be narrated… therefore, this resolution is personally for me only!

Not only will blogging support my passion to write but I will (hopefully) improve myself as an author, as a narrator and definitely as a person! And if any bit of my efforts could help someone else, there is nothing greater!!

So if you are reading this - there are going to be many more coming… SOON! I can't promise what I post but definitely it will be about various aspects of my life. I have always tried NOT to blog a single topic over and over again, even if I can't get something off my head for days and I hope I can continue doing so.

One thing that I can promise, there are going to be quite a few 'Harry Potter' related posts. Reading about all the money making by blogging tells me that as my URL is 'lovegoodluna', the expectations are that there will be several Harry Potter related posts. Here, honestly, I am just giving myself a chance to fall head-over-heels in love with Harry Potter series all over again and also, I am increasing my chances of earning some money!! Like I said, this resolution is about me!!

A little extension to my resolution will only be that once I am sure that I am keeping my resolution faithfully, I will seek a new thing that I want to change in myself… Let's all hear for New Year 2014, that to me is the year of change, or at least I hope so ;)

How to increase number of views in your Blog? Just Read...

There is one thing 'to be honest with your job' and another thing 'to supply what is in demand'…

Recently, because I have this crazy knack for blogging and I decided to try and earn some money out of it, that is if I can. After that, I find a lot of reviews in my blog… there are less posts about what I have to say or just some random topics… but is that so?

Yes, I am trying to blog so as to attract public attention but does that really mean I am not blogging honestly? Even when I am writing a review, am I not mentioning what I really felt about the song, movie or the book I just reviewed? Have I ever skipped out my own views? Rather at times I feel that I write very less about what the general public has to say and a lot about my own views.

Not going round and round the topic but coming straight to the point, there are far more views on the songs and movies than I get on other posts. And no matter how much sad that is, but it is true. If you ask me, or even check my previous posts, when I started writing the blog, I didn’t write much reviews. Rather there were hardly reviews. Whatever seemed remotely related to media, was my own take on some of the topics.

However, scenario has changed today. I feel sad seeing it but the highest viewed posts in my blog are songs.

I do agree that it will take sometime for me to write other kind of posts for I havent written for sometime in between and also it will take further a longer period for people to discover it and me to find the right audience for my blog who will follow it; but I cant even deny the fact that more media related posts help me get good number of audience.

Therefore, I just want to say that times are really changing and we need to change or rather adapt to them.

I don’t really think there is any harm in posting about the entertainment world, as long as I havent forgotten to write it all from my own mind and soul!

This post is not just for me but it is for every blogger out there. As I blog I know that we wish someone would read and there is no harm wanting to have more people read our blog. Also, there is no harm with trying to earn something from your blog. Just there is a single point that we know what is the main objective of writing the blog. This objective will differ for each and everyone of us and as long as we are honest to this objective, and true to ourselves, I doubt it really matters.

I would rather dedicate this post to the people who are new at blogging and not getting enough audience (even I am not getting that!!), just hold on and be true to this task. No wonder was built in a day… therefore, just give it some months and be sure that for atleast 6 months to an year, you should write regularly (if not daily)… and definitely, around the end of that time, you will yourself see the change that comes to the way you write and the increase in the number of views for your posts and the regular visitors!

Some of you might know but if you dont, I am either ways saying that I am not new to blogging but I have just got the flavor of trying to make some fortune out of my little blog and so I keep searching alot of things.
Mostly, I search for what the people like to search for... writing about popular topics and including most searched keywords in your blog will increase chances of someone visiting your blog. And after all, this is what is required - a person searches something and your blog appears in the search result and so you get a hit!!

Being 'Materialistic'

Just yesterday, the teacher of English for our extra aptitude classes, mentioned his blog. He said his friend earns a living of like 2.5 lakhs from the blog, and seeing that, he started blogging. He is now earning like 10000 monthly. In the same flow, he then said that people hate the word 'materialistic' however he loves it.

The honest confession would be that I don’t either find anything wrong with being materialistic. I mean sir would be like in his later half of the twenties or the very early thirties, but definitely not a day more. At his age, everyone wants to earn; that is the primary reason why anyone would work in the prime of their lives. As in, this is one age period when we are adult enough to make choices and take decisions but this is also the only time when we can enjoy our lives to the maximum. So, if he wants to earn more, apart from his regular job, there is no wrong that I see. Moreover, he is definitely earning money the honest way. There is nothing wrong with blogging, rather the entire world says that we should blog.

On the same line of thought, the other teacher said that the entire world is definitely getting online. And by blogging, we definitely get a feel of how it is going to be like in a few years from today.

Getting ahead, like my room-mate said after listening to sir, that there are a number of beneficial things that one can do online, yet what is most chosen is - facebook, twitter, chatting, youtube, etc. Guys and Gals, oh common! Get a life! Its not that I don’t facebook or twitter or chat or youtube for that matter, but the internet is filled with a hundred of better things. Make an effort to find atleast one of them.

Like the other sir said, you can choose to buy a book from ebay or flipkart or any other online shopping site, but you can always spare a few minutes and search the internet and you are bound to find the book or another similar book, free of cost. He said that in a matter of minutes, he was able to find ebooks otherwise worth 26000. And this is true, I myself possess ebooks for course materials to the latest programming technologies to novels to user-manuals, and it is all out there, staring at you.

In a way, I did use the net to save some money, and for the same, it wouldn’t be a hard thing to call me 'materialistic'.

Just to make myself clear, I am not against the word, and unlike experts in the language, I don’t find any word negative or positive. There are just words. If you do good, the word used to account for your act is good, but if you do bad, then definitely there needs to be a corresponding word to account for that too. As in, if no one ever did steal, then the word 'steal' wouldn’t be there at all. So there is no point in saying that a word is a word. Similarly, being 'materialistic' is bad if you con people and hurt others to make your way through. But if you are just not wanting an attachment in the way, I doubt if there is anything wrong.

Yes, I do believe in what Gandhiji prophesized. He said that progress for the sake of progress of a single person is never progress. Only when the society progresses, do we all progress in the real manner.

I do believe that we don’t have to be mean little folks and there is definitely always scope to help those around you but common, in a world like today's where everyone is doing all to help themselves, if you just sit back and wait for the society to progress, I am sorry my friends to break it to you, the entire world is moving down in the graph. There is no rising from where we are headed to. As they say, we are all going to hell, so better you do your part of sins before landing there.

Even after writing this much, I cant deny that much of this is never implemented by me. Like I mentioned in my other post, I did want to earn money from blogging. Okay, let's just get clear on this point - I like blogging and there is no harm earning a few bucks out of it. Also, I get lazy when I just write, but when I was writing for monetary reasons, I always wanted to blog more and more. That is a better thing I believe.

Back to point well, like  already stated, I really wanted to earn money, but that was never at the cost of the satisfaction that I get when I see a comment in the post saying that they liked it. Or remember the post where I wrote about a person who mentioned my blog in his post and also said that he felt motivated reading it, these are two instances of moments where money seems to loose it value (and that's saying something for if I would have, I would have earned in US dollars ;P). But ofcourse, today I am a student, my parents are there to support me financially. All I got to do is study and enjoy. So in a way of saying, I have all the time in the world to think all good and do good. Probably when I come of age where earning becomes more of a necessity than a unknown venture, as it is for me now, maybe then I might consider this to be a better source of income than it is today - a source of contentment and satisfaction for my hunger to write more and more.

Sometimes, words just cannot describe it all

Just while googling my own blog, I stumbled upon this another blog which mentioned my blog and also

my name. The author (a 'he') seems to have read one of my posts long back and was motivated by it or atleast the post got him thinking enough for him to write it in his blog.

First of all Prabhav - thanks a ton! I am really honored.

And well, here is something what I shared with him, that I would love to share on my blog as well.

Recently, I discovered alot of ad sites that post ads on your blog and depending on various factors, they pay you. Now well, who doesnt want to make some free money? So do I... Next thing I know I am trying all the possible options on my blog and this is the primary reason that you see me blogging so much off recently.

To be honest, I really like writing and I find it really sacred. Therefore, no matter whatever the situation might be, I will never and I mean NEVER ever blog something that I dont believe or just put up things that will fetch more clicks but wont be of any value. Instead, to blog more, I have been blogging on topics that I wouldnt have blogged about earlier. I am trying reviews and tips and other things that are often searched - things that I search. So its like half-hearted content. But trust me, anything that I write, I dont fake. If I have written a tip, I have tried it. You can have that word from me.

But you know reading Prabhav's post, I felt that his few words were more than what millions of dollars

would fetch me. After all, a writer's true asset is that if even for a moment, I make a difference.

Before I proceed, let me take this opportunity - Prabhav thank you so much for bringing me back to Earth. I needed that.

Next, what you said - I am no trained writer that you kind of imaged. I just write. But as I said that I find it very sacred, so I do it all from the heart.

Someone quoted to me today itself - Its important to do the right thing. Only thats how you break the chain and eventually the bigger picture will fit itself to being right ;)

And now, I solemnly swear I am upto no good :) and promise that from now onwards if I post anything on this blog - I will give the content the full thought that I used to. It might be to promote my blog or to add the number of visitors, but there will be sufficient posts that describe all my thoughts and whatever I feel.
