A letter for the departed ... HAIR

Disclaimer : I recently read an article on 'The Sneeze' blog which is similar in nature. It is the article that inspired me to do this one. However, I solemnly swear that this is not copied and that I am going through the pain that the author of that article had once undergone (I hope it worked out for him.).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Hair

Everyday you fall down and trust me, even though I never feel it on my skin, it pains my heart deeply to see you leave. I have never been good with goodbyes and so I never say a word but I expected you to know of the pain (especially since you have been a part of my body till a moment back). Or do you not even see the tear that seldom clouds my vision?
I love you, to the moon that is 14 billion light years away and beyond and back, yet, you dont seem to care at all. I bring all sorts of expensive hair care products for you - shampoos and conditioners and serums and oils. Do you know how much a decent shampoo costs these days? Yet, I never pay heed to the cost when it comes to you, my precious. I spend two evenings (minimum) a week, to oil you. And I dont just nourish you with one item throughout. I ensure that you get all the essential oils. I change the shampoos and conditioners the moment I realize that you dont like them. Still, you seem angry with me. Worst are the days when I take deep care of you, like applying curd. It stinks and I have to bear that smell. Then I think of all the moisture that you would be getting from that curd and I smile in all the odour. Yet, when I wash the curd off, more of you would fall. Maybe you dont like Curd, just like the rest of me, but what option do I have? How am I to bring moisture to my moistureless hair? (oops, did I say that out loud?)

I
have spent hours and hours browsing through articles and videos on the internet, about how to take good care of you. I have taken advices from whoever seemed willing to share. I have even stopped envying long straight hair. Yes, I would love it if you were straight but as long as you dont fall off my scalp, the wavy you is no less. Even the tips that once worked for me, wouldnt work a second time.

What happened, love? What did I do wrong? Everytime I see a single strand leave me, I ask it - what happened suddenly? It had chosen to stick with me for so long, even when the others were leaving. What changed now? Why did you decide to leave? And yet, one after the other, you all decide to leave, never answering my questions or soothing my agony.
As I roll the departed bodies into a roll and throw you on the floor or into the bin, I wonder why would you choose that life? I mean, see when you are shiny and long and ON MY HEAD, people sneak glances at you and admire you. Once on the floor, you disgust others and once in the bin, no one really gives a damn. Yet, you choose that destiny more than being on my head. Now I understand, I havent exactly been the best partner of choice. I am careless and ignorant. I had wanted straight hair for long to have damaged you and in turn, made you the moisture-less and lusture-less versions of yourselves. But, I have changed. I dont experiment with heating equipments any more. The most I am willing to do is, apply a new shampoo/conditioner/oil. I dont even fight to keep you open any more. I braid you, try to keep you combed and tangle free at all times. I know its not a cent percent commitment but I am trying and you should consider it.

Apologies if it got dragged a little. I just couldnt keep it all in and had to tell you. Hope you will share your feelings with me too.

Love,
The scalp owner where you are always welcome to stay and flourish.

Special Messages

Hi my Dearest Hair

First and foremost, I am seriously so happy that you have finally shown some love and stopped falling off at that awfully high pace. I have loved you since I have known myself and just see you leave was heart-breaking. However, even in what can only be called the worst of times, you didn't leave me just like that. I will not fail to mention that you had your successors replacing you, almost instantly. However, seeing you fall once was still very bad.
It took you some time but finally you did realize that on my head you were like a crown but down there, it was just plain dirt and filth.

Anyways, now that you have decided to stay, I am really happy. I just still have one little thing that hurts me so much... why won't you grow longer?
I mean, it's been so long that I am trying to grow you. Everytime I see that you have so big and so dreadful split-ends. I get you trimmed and then wait for a few weeks. You grow back to the same length and then you have that big and dreadful split-ends again.

I mean... common! What is wrong with you? Just a few more inches... that's all. And it's not like I am asking you for anything. Instead, I take such care of you and apply so many good things. Still, you do this to me.

So here, in front of the entire world, I am telling you how much you mean to me and I just want you to grow longer.

With Lots of Love,

Ps : In serious admiration of The Sneeze. So visit it, if you haven't so far.

Hair Tip : URGENT : Rebonding? : IMPORTANT

Hey all beautiful girls out there...
and more importantly - all the beautiful-hair girls!

Well - you are here because you were googling about 'rebonding'. Now I know how much you love straight hair... I had huge wavy hair and then I wanted them to be straight.. I bought a usable (local) hair-straightner and used it for a long time. What happened was my wavy hair smoothed a little but I still had pretty curly hair... Until one day I got them rebonded.

Trust me my hair were super awesome and I just loved them. I would flaunt them and play with them... Long story short, I fell head over heels in love with my own hair. But the point to note that I got my first rebonding done in Looks Unisex Salon and trust me guys I do recommend them... they are amazing at their job.

Almost one and a half years, I loved my hair and then they starting to be natural.

Anyways.... I was really stupid and got rebonding done again at the local parlor. She did follow the steps correctly and also use good products but somehow my hair wasnt what I wanted them to be.

And today with only like 3 months I am having a horrible hair fall. It am loosing like 20 - 30 hair daily and it kills me everytime a single hair I see has fallen out. And honestly, my hair doesnt fall strand by strand... they are falling in bunches.

Earlier I didnt have very beautiful straight hair but I had a volume that would make everyone jealous...

So everyone here... I want to suggest you - DONT GET YOUR HAIR REBONDED in some place where it costs less. Always go for national brands and professional salons. And take real good care of your hair. My personal tip will only be this.

And I have researched alot but I have discovered hair wont stop falling until all damaged hair have fallen. You just need to take more care and be very gentle with them.

Good Luck :)

Natural Ways to help your 'HAIR' - I

Like Nails, I am quite obsessed with my hair as well. Take Care of your Nails
Thanks to my mother, I was born blessed with good thick hair which grew in volumes. However, being thick, they were good curly and so I never liked that (I still don’t like curly)…
Therefore, despite liking long hair, I would cut them and never let them grow long enough.

About two years back, I got them rebonded. And that was my last thing with damaging them!!

Very important - if you are using a certain shampoo for long, don’t change it all of a sudden! Your hair falls like hell - that's my success story to spoiling my hair on the first place :(
And the second amazing thing I did to spoil them was use heavy chemicals. All shampoos and conditions which offer anything more than one thing - are BAD. They are high on chemical content and so never use them. Your shampoo should be as mild as possible - try herbal shampoos. I know they suck, but in the long run, they work.

I am using Ramdev's shampoo for quite sometime now and along with that I have been doing some other things too, and trust me, my hair is thick again. The quality of my hair is improving and I just love this thing about them. Even now when they are all curly and wavy again, I cant help my hand touching them over and over again. They are like pure silk when of course I have done the right thing to them ;)

Okie, so the hair care thing, I am going to post in small bits, for I realized that it was hard for anyone to read the entire nail section and get it completely. What's done is done… am not gonna do extra work to set it right.. I am sure you know me that much :)

WARNING! Hair are even more delicate than nails. You better spend atleast 10 mins daily to tend them, or you will never be able to. And its not a job for a month or an year. It's a lifetime process. So be prepared for it.
Also, like nails, if you got long hair, you wont be able to help them. For the longer the hair grows, the more damaged it gets. If you want good quality hair, I seriously advice to first cut your hair to a reasonable length (like a little longer than shoulder length) and then take care of them and see them grow healthy.

Here is the trick that you should do for the rest of your life!! Yes, you might not believe that, but if you follow just one tip for the rest of your life - your hair will eventually turn out great and will grow to a good length and remain so!

 1. Regular Massaging with Basic Oils

Regular massaging of the scalp with lukewarm oil helps to stimulate the hair follicles. This is also an easy way to cure hair growth deterrents like dandruff and fungal infections. Regular massaging increases the blood circulation in the scalp. It is also useful for lowering anxiety or stress that is often the underlying reason for thinning of hair. Recommended oils for 3 to 4 times-a-week massaging schedule includes coconut oil. You can alternate this with mustard oil. Keep the oil on for at least six hours before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Other oils that can be mixed with coconut oil in trace amounts for faster results include almond oil.

I say :

Massaging your help keeps it nourished and it is basically the food your hair need (this is what my mommy used to tell me when I was a little girl)… The best oil is definitely Coconut Oil. Use the Parachute Hot Coconut oil and take just in small quantity and massage your scalp ever so gently and you will see it works. Yes, it takes some time and you have to be patient but it will definitely work.
I don’t use coconut oil but an old oil called 'JawaKusum' and it has worked for me as well!!

2. Natural Concoctions for Preventing Hair Loss

Coconut milk is among the richest sources of tissue-nourishing, plant derivatives. It is an excellent home remedy for keeping the hair soft without depending upon chemical formulations and regenerating dead hair follicles. You can also use a concoction of coconut oil mixed with half the amount of Amla oil. Just add a dash of lemon juice to this mixture and you have an effective, dandruff-fighting and scalp-healing concoction that arrests receding hairline.

3. Nature’s Effective Hair-stimulating Juices

Wheatgrass juice is one of the most effective remedies against hair fall. It is known to decrease the shedding tendency of hair within a few weeks of regular intake. Aloe vera juice has a similar effect. However, aloe gel can be applied to the scalp too. This is helpful for preventing hair loss due to irritated, dry or infected scalp. After massaging the head with aloe gel, wash the hair with lukewarm water. This can be done twice, every week.

4. Slightly Demanding But Very Effective Natural Therapies

You can make your own hair fall-preventing medicine at home by frying some fenugreek (methi) seeds in coconut oil. Strain this mixture and apply it in minimal amounts, rubbed gently into the hair roots. Alternatively, you can boil some henna leaves in mustard oil. After cooling and straining this preparation, add drops of it in your coconut oil container that you are using for regular massaging.

5. Homemade Pastes

You can wash the hair with a paste made from Neem leaves. This is particularly effective for hair loss caused due excessive build up of scalp oil or invasive skin infections. For restoring the alkaline balance of the scalp and preventing hair fall, you can follow this with washing the hair with apple cider vinegar. Other homemade pastes that can be very useful include a mixture prepared from adding honey and olive oil to some cinnamon (dalchini) powder.

6. Arrest Hair Fall With Elementary Household Items

Before washing your hair, apply the juice extracted from crushed coriander (dhania) leaves. You can also use a mixture of curd and gram flour (chana atta) that should be kept-on for at least an hour before bathing.

7. Hair Fall Dietary Recommendations

For a comprehensive, hair fall prevention regimen, you need to be equipped with a diet plan that includes foods that can arrest hair fall and stimulate better scalp health. Recommendations here include eating more seeds and nuts (almonds and peanuts) along with green leafy vegetables like spinach and sprouts of a variety of dals (legumes). Basically, foods rich in calcium, protein and iron are vital for ensuring overall health of the scalp. Combine this with some basic dietary supplementation, i.e. using over-the-counter products that help to ensure wholesome nutrition for your hair. Regular intake of Amla juice ensures adequate amounts of Vitamin C but you can boost this with eating more guavas. Ensure you take a multivitamin that combines beta-carotenes, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin E and trace amounts of zinc and iron.

Just Remember : Your hair fall, you worry, and this makes your hair fall even faster! Stop the vicious cycle and relax!!!

A little drama is required
