Happy Birthday Wishes - Tom Hanks

I just cannot believe when an entire year has passed and actually where did it go?

I can never forget this scene...
And look how cute he looks?? aww....
aww... <3
Ain't that worth another look?

Anyways, well just look at this guy,
his eyes sparkle leaving you simply mesmerized, his words can enchant even the best of orators, his gait leaves no room for anyone else's persona in the room and his smile ?? Well, his smile, reassuring that there is nothing that can go wrong till he's around.

Ofcourse, I have written alot about why I am obsessed about him, so here, this time, its none of that; It's simply I AM OBSESSED post :P

aww.... <3
Simply Classy

Thomas Jeffrey "Tom" Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor, producer, writer, and director.

Hanks was born in Concord, California. His father, Amos Mefford Hanks, was an itinerant cook. His mother, Janet Marylyn (née Frager), was a hospital worker. Hanks' mother is of Portuguese ancestry, while two of Hanks' paternal great-grandparents immigrated from Britain. Hanks' parents divorced in 1960. The family's three oldest children, Sandra (now Sandra Hanks Benoiton, a writer), Larry (Lawrence M. Hanks, PhD, an entomology professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Tom, went with their father, while the youngest, Jim, now an actor and filmmaker, remained with his mother in Red Bluff, California.

Aww... <3
The Perfectionist
In addition to having a family history of Catholicism and Mormonism, Hanks was a "Bible-toting evangelical teenager" for several years. In school, Hanks was unpopular with students and teachers alike, later telling Rolling Stone magazine: "I was a geek, a spaz. I was horribly, painfully, terribly shy. At the same time, I was the guy who'd yell out funny captions during filmstrips. But I didn't get into trouble. I was always a real good kid and pretty responsible." In 1965, Amos Hanks married Frances Wong, a San Francisco native of Chinese descent. Frances had three children, two of whom lived with Tom during his high school years. Hanks acted in school plays, including South Pacific, while attending Skyline High School in Oakland, California.
Mesmerizing
Hanks studied theater at Chabot College in Hayward, California, and after two years, transferred to California State University, Sacramento. Hanks told New York magazine in 1986: "Acting classes looked like the best place for a guy who liked to make a lot of noise and be rather flamboyant ...I spent a lot of time going to plays. I wouldn't take dates with me. I'd just drive to a theater, buy myself a ticket, sit in the seat and read the program, and then get into the play completely. I spent a lot of time like that, seeing Brecht, Tennessee Williams, Ibsen, and all that."

During his years studying theater, Hanks met Vincent Dowling, head of the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. At Dowling's suggestion, Hanks became an intern at the Festival. His internship stretched into a three-year experience that covered most aspects of theater production, including lighting, set design, and stage management, all of which caused Hanks to drop out of college. During the same time, Hanks won the Cleveland Critics Circle Award for Best Actor for his 1978 performance as Proteus in Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona, one of the few times he played a villain.

And common, you just gotta see him, and then honestly tell me; Okay dont tell me but think yourself - but HONESTLY!! Don't you also think this is one face, one person, one personality who really means what he says?
One person, who will never lead you to fakeness... one soul, who will be your mate through your thick and thins... one smile that will do all to just leave you smiling...

He is one friend, you got to have; He's the son, others wished they had; He's a father that would make sure his children got all they deserved and desired; He's one husband that you would wish was yours...
and definitely one person I wish I were and I look up to be!!

Honestly, if ever you read this post Mr. Hanks, I love you :P and I would be honored if I were a little as good as you are :)

So cute! :D
In 1979, Hanks moved to New York City, where he made his film debut in the low-budget slasher film He Knows You're Alone (1980) and got a part in the television movie Mazes and Monsters. Early in 1979, Hanks was cast in the lead role of Callimaco in the Riverside Shakespeare Company's production of Niccolò Machiavelli's The Mandrake, directed by Daniel Southern. As a high profile Off Off Broadway showcase, the production helped Tom land an agent, Joe Ohla with the J. Michael Bloom Agency. The next year, Hanks landed a lead role on the ABC television pilot of Bosom Buddies, playing the role of Kip Wilson. Hanks moved to Los Angeles, where he and Peter Scolari played a pair of young advertising men forced to dress as women so they could live in an Hanks had previously partnered with Make Me Laugh. Bosom Buddies ran for two seasons, and, although the ratings were never strong, television critics gave the program high marks.
Adorable ;)
"The first day I saw him on the set," co-producer Ian Praiser told Rolling Stone, "I thought, 'Too bad he won't be in television for long.' I knew he'd be a movie star in two years." But if Praiser knew it, he was not able to convince Hanks. "The television show had come out of nowhere," best friend Tom Lizzio told Rolling Stone. "Then out of nowhere it got canceled. He figured he'd be back to pulling ropes and hanging lights in a theater."

Bosom Buddies and a guest appearance on a 1982 episode of Happy Days ("A Case of Revenge," where he played a disgruntled former classmate of The Fonz) prompted director Ron Howard to contact Hanks. Howard was working on Splash (1984), a romantic comedy fantasy about a mermaid who falls in love with a human. At first, Howard considered Hanks for the role of the main character's wisecracking brother, a role that eventually went to John Candy. Instead, Hanks got the lead role and a career boost from Splash, which went on to become a box office hit, grossing more than US$69 million. He also had a sizable hit with the sex comedy Bachelor Party, also in 1984.

In 1983–84, Hanks made three guest appearances on Family Ties as Elyse Keaton's alcoholic brother, Ned Donnelly.

Hanks climbed back to the top again with his portrayal of a washed-up baseball legend turned manager in A League of Their Own (1992). Hanks has admitted that his acting in earlier roles was not great and that he has improved. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hanks noted his "modern era of moviemaking ... because enough self-discovery has gone on.... My work has become less pretentiously fake and over the top". This "modern era" began in 1993 for Hanks, first with Sleepless in Seattle and then with Philadelphia. The former was a blockbuster success about a widower who finds true love over the airwaves. Richard Schickel of TIME called his performance "charming," and most critics agreed that Hanks' portrayal ensured him a place among the premier romantic-comedy stars of his generation.
In Philadelphia, he played a gay lawyer with AIDS who sues his firm for discrimination. Hanks lost thirty-five pounds and thinned his hair in order to appear sickly for the role. In a review for People, Leah Rozen stated "Above all, credit for Philadelphia's success belongs to Hanks, who makes sure that he plays a character, not a saint. He is flat-out terrific, giving a deeply felt, carefully nuanced performance that deserves an Oscar." Hanks won the 1993 Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Philadelphia. During his acceptance speech he revealed that his high school drama teacher Rawley Farnsworth and former classmate John Gilkerson, two people with whom he was close, were gay.

Do you really need a gun to kill??

A person with such killer personality can click with just a blink of his eyes!!!
A supporter of NASA's manned space program, Hanks has said that he originally wanted to be an astronaut but "didn't have the math." Hanks is a member of the National Space Society, serving on the Board of Governors of the nonprofit educational space advocacy organization founded by Dr. Wernher Von Braun. HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon about the Apollo program to send astronauts to the moon. In addition, Hanks co-wrote and co-produced Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D, an IMAX film about the moon landings. Hanks also provided the voice over for the premiere of the show Passport to the Universe at the Rose Center for Earth and Space in the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
He also produced the
In 2006, the Space Foundation awarded Hanks the Douglas S. Morrow Public Outreach Award. The award is given annually to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to public awareness of space programs.
Still Adorable!!
In June 2006, Hanks was inducted as an honorary member of the United States Army Rangers Hall of Fame for his accurate portrayal of a Captain in the movie Saving Private Ryan; Hanks, who was unable to attend the induction ceremony, was the first actor to receive such an honor. In addition to his role in Saving Private Ryan, Hanks was cited for serving as the national spokesperson for the World War II Memorial Campaign, for being the honorary chairperson of the D-Day Museum Capital Campaign, and for his role in writing and helping to produce the Emmy Award-winning miniseries, Band of Brothers.
Hanks is one of several celebrities who frequently participates in planned comedy bits on Conan O'Brien's talk shows, including Late Night, The Tonight Show, and Conan while a guest. On one visit, Hanks asked O'Brien to join his run for president on the "Bad Haircut Party" ticket, with confetti and balloons and a hand held sign with the slogan "You'd be stupid to vote for us". On another episode, O'Brien, noting that Hanks was missing Christmas on his promotional tour, brought the season to him, including a gift (the skeleton of Hooch), and a mass of snow burying them both. On yet another episode, O'Brien gave Hanks a painting he had commissioned reflecting two of his interests: Astronauts landing on the beach at Normandy.
On March 10, 2008, Hanks was on hand at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to induct The Dave Clark Five.
Asteroid 12818 Tomhanks is named after him.

'Memories' - 'Yaadein' - the way the person up there tells us, we are blessed ;)

First of all, there are several times or phases when we insist on saying that "Life Sucks" or when you read the title, you will just wanna say "Blessed? This aint for me!".. but that is just a phase and the most beautiful thing about phases is that they tend to pass, no matter how long they might feel or seem, but yes, they will all pass! And in the end, we are left with some experiences that make us a better person for tomorrow and some memories, which remind us that we are blessed!!

Imagine, you have just realized that one of your dear friends never considered you the same. Of-course, it hurts like hell! But it just makes us capable of analyzing people better and moreover, what I say often -
No matter you are not talking to some person now; No matter how many distances have separated you; the moments that you spent together will be yours forever! It just takes a wink of the eye to relive all the happiness you felt in those moments.
And if you do that, I know it is hard, but it keeps you from ruining and replacing those good memories with the ill said words or the cold wars you might have switched over to!

But well, then again, it all depends on the person and how he or she decides to do with the course of life!!

Remember :

They say its destiny that is sure to come your way, but its never like that. Life is never a straight line from our birth to our destiny! It is always a graph that extends from the node that we tend to choose and only we can choose!!

Back to the memories - I believe, its the most beautiful thing that ever happened to mankind. I can remember all the good moments of my life forever and recall them whenever I want to.
I can always remember my bad moments or mistakes so that I make sure that I never repeat them again...

and then, speaking like a recently-crossed-the-teen-age :P
It makes me keep in mind about every special person, friend, acquaintance in my life!!

Anytime that I want to, I can close my eyes and wander off in my own La-La Land to remember the friends and the laughs we shared.

teri yaad yaad - 4
teri yaad yaad - 4
pade sang jeena hai jasbaad yaar
koi aaye na tere baad yaar
har waqt kambhakt tadpaaye
teri yaad yaad - 4
teri yaad yaad - 4
jahaan bhi gaya main sanam tujhko paya
mere sang hamesha raha tera saaya
aankhon mein khwaab seene mein dard
hothon pe sirf hai teri baat - 3
pade sang jeena hai jasbaad yaar
koi aaye na tere baad yaar

It makes me remember every person who did good to me... people who molded me, who have bits here and there in making me who I am.

har waqt kambhakt tadpaaye
teri yaad yaad - 4
teri yaad yaad - 4
falak pe - 2 chaand jab aata hai
tera hi - 2 tasavvur lata hai
dil ki deewar pe tu hi tu
rag rag mein tu bahe mere saath - 3
pade sang jeena hai jasbaad yaar
koi aaye na tere baad yaar
har waqt kambhakt tadpaaye
teri yaad yaad - 4
teri yaad yaad - 4

and if you notice a little to carefully, the best thing that ever happened on planet Earth is - to love and being loved! Think carefully, its all about memories!!

If you get what I have said, I wanna just end it a little abruptly, so next time when i read, I feel the need to think ahead and so would you :)
Stay Blessed till then :)

Farewell.... As my entire batch are caught in d word with all the preparations and arrangements, let me take a moment off to express a few of my emotions attached with the same...

Saiyaara... Once upon a time...

Ab agar Salman ko hi nahi pata ke uski movies kyun chalti hain.. toh definitely mujhe to pata ho hi nahi sakta.. par haan.. Salman ki sab movies Blockbuster hits ke sath - sath, viewer's ke heart - chart (as I like to call it :P ) pe bhi top par rehti hain...

Yeap.. so coming to "Ek tha Tiger" ... [SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!] Honestly, If you are looking for a spy movie.. a MI-kinda one.. you are so at the wrong place! If I were to rate it as a spy movie, it would get a -1 from me!!
But yes, if you are looking for a love-story that would reside in your hearts forever.. you definitely cant miss this one!!

Movie ka plot itna bhi accha nahi hai.. but the locations are worth a lifetime!
Story aajkal aane wali movies se kaafi refreshing hai..

But the catch of the movie is definitely its SONGS!! kya gaane hain yaar... by God.. utar hi nahi rahe zubaan se!!
Sirf inn gaano ke liye 100 Crores is so well deserved!! Hats off!!

Well, ye special mention mere Blog me isliye kyunki "Saiyaara" gaana hai ke dimaag se hat hi nahi raha...

Aasmaan.. tera mera hua
Khwaab ki tarah dhuaan dhuaan
Aasmaan.. tera mera hua
Saans ki tarah ruaan ruaan
Ho jaaye jahan tu jaaye
Paaye mujhe hi paaye
Saaye yeh mere
Hai tujh mein samaaye
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyaara tu saiyaara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyaara tu saiyaara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara

Tu jo mila, toh yoon hua
Ho gayi puri adhoori si dua
Tu jo gaya, toh le gaya
Sang tere mere jeene ki har wajah
Ho jaaye jahan tu jaaye
Paaye mujhe hi paaye
Saaye yeh mere
Hai tujh mein samaaye
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyara tu saiyara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyara tu saiyara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara
Tum pe miti, tum se bani
Tumse hua hai haan khud pe yakeen
Tu jo nahi, toh na sahi
Main hoon yahaan toh tu hai yahin kahin
Ho jaaye jahan tu jaaye
Paaye mujhe hi paaye
Saaye yeh mere
Hai tujh mein samaaye
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyaara tu saiyaara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara
Saiyaara main saiyaara
Saiyara tu saiyara
Sitaaron ke jahan mein
Milengey ab yaara

Can you believe ke ye sad song hai?? :O :\ ... I mean it is so die hard romantic...
and like in the picturization of the song, there was moment when Katrina sits alone in her room, in one of the most beautiful suits I have seen (actually probably the first suit I saw Katrina wearing :P :P) and then the line 'tu jo nahi.. toh na sahi.. Main hoon yahan toh tu hai yahin kahin...' and I almost cried!

Bas so not making it so long.. everyone who hasnt seen this movie.. go out NOW and watch it..!! Salman Khan so roxx dude!! <3 br="br">

Madhushala - Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Many of us know Amitabh Bachchan.. and why should one not? He is a living legend! We all know that for 15 years, he gave a hit movie each year.. he has worked in tens of movies and still he has a charm that is unparalleled...
Even today, the roles he does, can never be done or taken by any other hero.

The best example can be the remake of Agneepath. The movie though had the superstar cast and wonderful everything, yet when taken the name, people remember Amitabh's version of the same.

However, there is another man, who is as much related to Amitabh as to Agneepath - Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Orginally only Harivansh Rai, was a poet. He has immense contribution to the hindi literature in terms of poetry. His poetry is sad, strengthening, and probably in the most versatile use of words, he has expressed each and every emotion of a human heart.
Indeed the poem Agneepath, in the movie, often recited by the hero's dad, was also written by Dr. Bachchan himself. And yes, lemme tell you all - BACHCHAN isNOT a surname. It's his pen name :P :P ... That brings down Amitabh Bachchan to Amitabh Rai ... Funny.. Bachchan sounds better..

Anyways, there is another poem of his - Madhushala. Its not that I listen to alot of poems or I am a very gud critic in this field, but yes, everytime I listen to it, my nerves sooth and altogether I am taken into a world of imagination and creativity...

Here I present,

Madhushala - (only the stanza sung by Manna Dey)

And just I want to say - hats of sir!! To Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and to the music legend - Manna Dey. I am so proud and honored to be born on the land you both walked on.

Happy Birthday Professor Langdon...

The date 9th has always held a great significance in my life. Some of the best people in the world are born on the 9th - Me (for the best instance :P).. Severus Snape (the sweetheart!).. Akanksha Khansili (my roomie LOLzz) and now today, today the dawn brought the end of another year in the life of Tom Hanks or rather marked the beginning of a beautiful year ahead...

It's

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

                          TOM HANKS

Its not been long since I have known this guy. Not known him actually
ever :P, just seen or known his existence since I saw DaVinci Code
(movie) in 2004 (I guess... 2004 has been a really good year for me and
most of the landmarks in my life date back to 2004).

I knew him and something just made me NOT forget him. I read and read
more about him. Then I discovered the grey shades in his life. Having
not read or understood enough, I found him to be another cheating
husband who leaves his wife for his co-star (now wife) Rita Wilson.
Later on being guided by a friend (coincidently whose birthday is

tomorrow i.e. 10th July) told me that his wife had been cheating on him
and spending HIS money holidaying with her boyfriend. Yet, this guy just
divorces her taking the entire responsibility of his kids.

I dont think anyone anywhere on this planet would find his act wrong now.
Since then, I have found this guy to be the total sweetheart and has perfectly fit as my idol.

So today, its a great day when its his birthday and all I pray today is - God, bless him as you have for all these years. Guide him towards the right path of life. Shower all your happiness on him. And if you just can manage, create many more people, so talented, so human and so adorable like him (though I personally believe he cant be replaced... but yet :P)...

Happy Birthday Professor!!

234 WAYS TO ANNOY VOLDEMORT

I am so not believing this.. the muggles are so growing mean... see what I found on the internet..

234 WAYS TO ANNOY VOLDEMORT

1. Ask him why he 'doesn't have such a cool scar?'

PoTTeRmoRe : The more to everything!

When I said 'more' to everything.. I even meant the number of fans, the madness displayed by each of them, the wait for the next one and lots MORE!!

These words have been the very chant we are hearing from mouths of people all around the world. Even people who have not been part of the magical journey from the beginning know that the final movie of the Harry Potter series released worldwide on Friday, July 15. Most of those people, made it a point to see it. Till now, all my friends who have seen the movie find it great but they are quite taken with the ‘Post – Potter – Depression’ or what they are calling it. Yes definitely, it is heartbreaking to think that no more of the Potter movies… no visits to Hogwarts… no classes… no magic!

But only a true PotterManiac knows that the ‘Harry Potter – magic’ can never vanish. The characters, the stories, the magic within… will never die! Neither can it end.
With the release of the first novel, J.K.Rowling presented everyone with a world, an entire new world or you can just call it – a Parallel Universe. Since then, there have been people who keep joining the race but there hasn’t been a single person to know where this will end.
