I am a Nail-Freak! I got shades that most people don’t even wish to see or get irritated seeing them.. But me, well, I just love colorful nails and I paint them, mostly to flaunt them.

No matter how long or short they are, nails can really be beautiful.

Shh… The secret is, that when people look at my nails, I feel good :) . I kinda like people when their attention gets drawn to them. And that is why I just adore long nails. But its not at all easy to have them growing. Especially my nails - I am surrounded with people who don’t want to do anything with their nails - not paint them, not tend to them but still they all got thicker nails. And me, well I got this weak nails which bend all the time, causing pain, and even more anger. Aahrgh!

So well, honestly speaking, do whatever, you will have to live with the kind of nails God gave you - thick or thin. But you can definitely make them attractive, and that too with just a little care.

Now, because I am so obsessed with my nails, I searched high and low for all kind of nail care and to be frank, I don’t waste money on any cosmetics. No matter how good they are, I never have had good experience with any of them. And when you can get good results for almost free, why do you spend so much?

Back to the point, I have spent a lot of time googling for the secrets of good nails. And today, as I was painting my nails, I just wondered, why not share it with everyone and help all nails get pretty! :)

First and foremost, you need to remember that if you want good nails, you really need to take care of them. Be sure that you have five minutes here and there everyday to tend to them. Once a day maybe ten minutes. But that is all. If you don’t have them, you might want to skip this for a while.

Now, one most frequently asked question - if you start caring today, still will you have good nails?

The answer is - Yes, its never too late. However, again, if you havent taken any care AT ALL… you might want to start afresh, which means give it like 2 - 3 months, and you will have beautiful nails.

Before reading ahead, you would better ask yourself that do you have like a few minutes (5 - 10) for your nails everyday for the next 2 - 3 months? For if you do, great. Else, trust me its gonna be hard and you better leave it to it.

Very Important - If you have long nails and you want them to be good, stop trying and its better that you cut the nails and regrow them to the length.

In a good nail, you see the visible boundary between skin and extra nail growth.

See longer nails are like long hair. The longer they get, the further they are from nutrition and so it is hard to give them nutrition or take care of them. Whereas, if your nails are short and you take good care of them, you grow strong and healthy nails. So after they have grown, you just need to make sure they remain damage free and not worry about their quality for they are already good!!

You think I might be faking it, but I am not! I myself am very clumsy, and at times I don’t use nailpaint remover, but just scratch the nailpaint off them, which leaves them all scarred. And also with such week nails, they bend a lot, again leaving scars. So every like six months or so, I cut my nails, to grow a fresh new pair of good nails.

And its never easy to part with the nails that you have grown and taken care of so fondly, but still you need to do it!

Important! Always consult your doctor before trying these or any home remedies. "Natural" does not mean it is safe for everybody. That's just to make sure that you don’t have any allergies or reactions.

If we want to have beautiful nails it is necessary to devote a few minutes of our daily routine to

them (or at least once a week). The most common problems people have with fingernails are:

1. Excess nail polish: Fingernails need to “breathe” and this is not possible if they are constantly covered with enamel. Besides, nail polish dries nails and the remover damages the root. Make sure whenever you apply Nail Polish, you DONOT use it on the skin beside the nail. Just on the nail. You might leave a little margin if you arent perfect for the job
2. Using the nails as tools: As with teeth, nails should not be used as tools. Fingernails are to protect the fingers and not to clean cracks or open containers.
3. Detergents may also affect nails: Wear gloves when washing dishes, the car, cleaning the house, etc…
4. Nail biting: Shy or anxious people have a tendency to bite nails.

To whiten nails: Apply white vinegar to each nail with a cotton ball rubbing gently. Another option is to soak them in hot water with hydrogen peroxide once a week.

To harden the nail: Add crushed garlic to the enamel. Another option is to crush the garlic and put the paste on the nails for a few minutes a day.

To dry enamel instantly: Put baby oil in an old nail polish bottle (wash the bottle with enamel remover first so that it is clean). After polishing nails give a final coat with baby oil.

Nail Hardener: To a bottle of clear nail polish add 8 drops of lemon, 5 drops of iodine, and a crushed garlic. Mix well and let macerate for a day. Apply a layer daily for 15 days in a row. Then, remove nail enamel and you will have long, strong fingernails.

No matter what shape your nail it, always use filer to make sure there is no 

dead skin.

Nails grow at different rates, but there are some general rules of thumb — no pun intended — that apply to everyone. The longer the finger, the faster the fingernail will grow. Nails grow faster in warm climates, so that means your fingernails will grow faster in the summer. Nails also grow faster when your body is fighting the flu. On a diet? Your nails will grow slower. Your pinkie nail grows the slowest, your thumbnail the next slowest. And sorry, ladies: Men’s fingernails grow faster than yours, and the speed of your fingernail growth probably peaked by the time you were 14. But on average, fingernails grow about 1½ inches per year. That said, there are things you can do to make your fingernails grow faster. Here’s how:

Check your nutritional habits. Extreme dieting, especially diets low in protein, can cause fingernails to weaken and break, which impedes their growth. Make sure you consume a sensible number of calories every day, and modify your diet to include protein-rich foods like lean meats, chicken, eggs, low-fat cheese, and soybeans. Not sure your everyday food intake is optimal for growing fingernails faster? Drink a protein shake and take a multivitamin daily.

•     Got milk? Drink some every day. The vitamin D in milk will strengthen your nails and promote growth.
•     Vitamin A has been shown to help fingernails grow faster. Up your intake by eating carrots, mangoes, and apricots.
•     Drink your vitamin C in orange juice. This helps the production of collagen, which

  

  Filing leaves a little sensation to your nail, improving blood flow

  helps skin stay firm and allows for healthy, fast nail growth.
•     Get the blood flowing to your nails to stimulate growth. It’s no secret that pianists have long fingernails that require constant trimming. Why? Because blood is constantly flowing to their fingernails, stimulating growth. Other fingernail growing activities are typing, sewing, gymnastics, cooking, gardening, and any other tasks that require you to use your hands a lot.
•     Stay warm. Nails grow faster in hot climates. If it’s cold outside, be sure to wear gloves and keep your hands warm at all times to increase blood flow to your fingernails and stimulate growth.
•     Use a nutrient-filled nail polish to make fingernails grow faster. Apply a layer each night to make fingernails grow even faster.
•     Get manicures regularly. You can do them yourself or have them done by a professional. Good hand and nail hygiene and maintenance improves the health of your nails and will keep them growing strong.

•     Here’s an odd one: Rub garlic on your fingernails to help them grow faster. Leave on fingernails for a half hour and then rinse. Rub a lemon on your fingers to remove the garlic smell.

A proper diet and some special attention to your hands can make your fingernails grow faster.

Keep in Mind Tips:

Rub lemon slice on your nails, don’t crush the slice against your nails, just rub it, at least once a week for a longer shine.

Whenever you wash hands, make sure that there is nothing sticking in your nails and they are all white and clean.

If you don’t like garlic, rub it, else eat it. It helps! I hated garlic but now I have it at least once a week for the sake of my nails :P

When you eat outside, make sure you dip your fingers in the finger-bowl, for only a brief period. Rather concentrate to rub the nails with lemon and then wipe with wet napkin.

Note: All these tips and knowledge, I have gathered them from advices from various people and net sources and endless reading. However, they helped me, even though I follow just the basic ones. So, I just felt like sharing with you all. Take Care of your nails.

Ghanchakkar : stuck between lazy and crazy.... Review

Whenever I hear the word 'Ghanchakkar' I cant stop humming 'Oye Ghanchakkar Babu' or 'lazy lad lazy lad lazy lad… Saiyaan… Lo kar lo Baat' .. Lolzz..

Yes, indeed the movie has a wonderful and catchy music. Indeed, though the music maynot have had made it to the most favourite playlists of all the people, it is definitely one kind of music that everyone has heard. The songs, if not in the eternity of length, yet people remember partly for they have been so widely known and played.

The movie is fresh from all the love-stories releasing around the movie - Raanjhana, Lootera and Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya (a little later)… and this is what makes the movie worth the watch.

However, personally I feel that the movie was wrongly publicized.

The movie is a simple story about a con-couple. The wife - Neetu (Vidya Balan) is the more greedy of the two as she enjoys a luxurious high-end living standard. She reads international magazines and desires everything, right from food to furnishing and clothes, all to be of the standard that she finds glamorous. Meanwhile, the husband - Sanjay (aka Sanju) (Emraan Haashmi) is a simple and self satisfied man. It is hard to imagine him as a con-artist in the past. He thinks that they have sufficient to lead their lives happily and so relaxes on his couch everyday watching television and enjoys whatever his wife cooks. He has a caring mother who calls him daily to ask about his health.

Lazy meets Crazy

This is, until one day, someone calls Sanju and offers him to do a job - to rob a bank - 35 crores. A reluctant Sanju, eventually agrees in the greed of a bigger television, better life and moreover his wife's contentment.

Trust me, I am not going to write out, but you must definitely check out the bank robbery scene - it's rib-tickling. I mean, its extremely wonderful and probably one scene that makes it a comedy. (The movie is actually a situational comedy).

The story starts where the people who got Sanju to do the job, insist that he keeps the money for a couple of months until the Police stop investigating. They trust Sanju for he is the only one who got a family, which will eventually become his weakness.

 

Itna bada TV? Nahi, itna bada...

Sanju's life takes a drastic turn when he meets an accident and starts loosing his memory. When the people call again to share the loot, he has completely forgotten who they are. They kidnap Neetu, but are forced to send her back owning to her expensive lifestyle and demands. They are forced to stay with the couple until Sanju hands over the money.

The rest of the movie is a little monotonous with not so much ups and down. It is all about Sanju trying to remember where he hid the money and everytime he thinks he is closer, he forgets more.

The end of the movie is again worth a viewing. It is supposed to be an anti-climax which is hillariously turned into a good-bad-mix ending with a phone call.

Sanju looses most of his memory and he thinks the Neetu is having the money and is ditching him along with his best friend. He is sure of this and goes to confront her on a train, escaping, when he finds that she was held hostage. No matter they continue argument. There is another boss who is supposed to be the master mind behind the robbery. He is angry for Sanju loosing the money and kills the other two. He sees that Sanju has no memory, so lets him live, as this would be his worst punishment.

In the end, the location of the money is revealed. Neetu is happy and excited, meanwhile amused that Sanju has completely forgotten about any money.

I find that the ending was a little loose for there was no expression on Emraan's face. He was shown to have completely lost his memory and had no clue about any money.

Emraan's acting in the movie is really commendable. He has done a great job with serious acting. Though it is a comedy movie, the role of Sanju was of a serious man and Emraan has convinced us completely.

Therefore, if you are a Emraan fan, definitely go check it out - its for you!! Even if not, this is definitely a relief from the love stories and a movie with a freshness. Go check it out!!

How to take an image of the your desktop (PrintScreen key)

Okie, to everyone who knows it, I know you think I am probably stupid enough to even think of writing this, but trust me, I had to 'Google' it to learn it and I believe there are still plenty of people who want to learn this.

And moreover, I keep hearing from people that I am a total amazing computer professional, just because I know it ;)

To all the beginners… Its very easy! Just give a reading and then try it yourself. You will know it forever!

Note : I am no expert to teaching and these little tips and tricks vary system to system. I am enclosing images of several different types of keyboards. Hope its good.

Step 1 : Just so to let it be handy, I suggest you open any image-editting software. Simplest is Paint and whenever I need to do image capture just for to save the screen, I use Paint only.

Step 2. : Open the screen you want to take a snap of.

Step 3. : Now see your keyboard and look in the upper right side of the keyboard (your right) for a key that reads 'print screen' or anything to abbreviate it like 'prt sc'.

Step 4. : The 'print screen' may or maynot be a single key.If it is a single key, well you are in luck or It is either written on top and another label on the same key is written below (as we can see in the image); or it might be in some color like mine has blue. There is some other key label with the standard white. (I havent tried the print screen as a solo key, so if it doesnt work, try with shift)

Step 5. : If it is white and written above, press shift key along with this key (print screen key). If it is in another color like blue for me, then there will be some key near to the lower left (your left) corner of the keyboard with the same color. Like mine reads 'fn' in the same blue.

Step 6. : You have successfully taken a snapshot. Now go to paint and paste it there using your mouse (right click > Paste) or press Ctrl key + V from the keyboard.

Step 7. : Now just save it and you are done!!

Is 'God' dead?

Hey there,

Well first of all, I have no intentions to ever hurt anyone or any feelings. I don’t feel to write this to any specific community or people, I mean general.

Honestly, I believe that there is only one God. There is one ultimate supreme (that's why he is called so :P) and that we all, like we speak in different languages, we have learnt to call him or remember him with different names. That doesn’t mean that he is different to me than he is to you and that he would ever prefer his one child over the other.

God is definitely like a father who is always there, constantly guiding us, helping us, making us stronger and a better person to walk this planet… Now, is he?

Watching the Supernatural Season 05 (which is cool, if you take it from me), I can't help but ponder over this question.

With what recently happened in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand (India) where 10z of 1000z of people who went to pilgrimage, one of the prime most temples of Lord Shiva in India, they were killed by the devastating flood and high tides, which swept away lives, property, automobiles and even entire villages in itself. Now, that place remains unattended to. There were several rescue operations but none of them good enough to save people. Yes, people were saved, but help arrived atleast after 3 days. People were forced to live in hunger and helpless… lying there and watching there loved ones die or wandering helplessly to search someone lost.

And what about the families that have been entirely swept away? There is no record of such people… there is no one left to even bother about them. And this is just the "human" count. There would be a number of cattle, poultry and other animals like cats and dogs which lost their lives. Maybe even foxes and hyenas, which are rather common in those places.

Now, thanks to our wonderful Government, the bodies of the dead are still lying there, rotting. Only the bodies which remained in the temple premises have been thrown outside it. Rest, they are all decorated there, probably as a reminder to what has become of humans?

I ask, all these people, each and every one of them… were they all this bad and this corrupt to have such a fate? They went to pilgrimage and now as they are dead, don’t they even deserve a decent CREMATION? Hello GOVERNMENT?? Are you even bothered?

Sorry, I got a little overboard, but that was just an example. There are several such incidents that take place over and over again, in different parts of the world. People, when I ask them the same, tell me that we are near to the 'Apocalypse'… Really?

What is Apocalypse? The End? Some say that’s an entry to the beginning… Others say that there is a lot of evil penetrating on the planet and the Apocalypse is the solution to eradicate it.

Well then, how did this evil come into being?

Again, quoting Supernatural, God created me! If I do a sin, God is the one who made me like the way I am and so he certainly must have foreseen me doing such a thing. Then why didn’t he kill me there and then? Why let someone be a sinner? Or maybe, he could have improved me.

Definitely God's one of the most divine creations is humans, and we are blessed that he has given us so much to be thankful about but then we arent perfect. And if he watches over us, doesn’t he get hurt when his children hurt each other.

I can definitely guarantee that there is no person on Earth who hasn’t hurt another person ever. And hurt? Remember the 16 December Delhi Rape Case? It was beyond insanity. Even animals mustn't be that crude.

Why does God sit silent to see this? Now well, you will say that the flood could be a way of his to punish… but again back to what I said… was each and every victim of these floods guilty enough, corrupt enough to get that fate? And yet we still have the Rapists and other even worse people locked up in our Jails for years and will be there for years to come, all in peace and leisure. There are sinners who have done worse, in larger scales, yet they plead innocence and are often even given freedom while people like Sarabjeet Singh, die horrible deaths!
 

Dear God,

If you are listening, as I believed that you do listen… Why or rather how can you see all this and stay silent? Either you want to end this world, and that too ruining it to the last bit or you are a sadist or worst of all, you arent there anymore. Maybe you have taken a long vacation or you are dead!

If you are on a vacation, people need you. Your children and you should really be back…

And if you intend to burn this Earth in your wrath for whatever be your reasons, I just don’t understand you. If I even write few lines on a piece of paper, I think twice about it before letting a crease come on that paper for it took my effort and most of all heart to do that thing.

Please God, don’t do this!

And no matter what Supernatural got to say, I wont believe that you are dead or even that you can die. You are just angry for some reason and I wish you would stop being angry and make us see right. That's always an option… ;)

Bholi bhaali manmarziyan.. Ishq wali manmarziyan.. : Music Review, Lootera

Edit Update : I saw the basic confusion - what is MANMARZIYAAN - well they mean the desires of your heart, which are a little out of the normal way. Like, if I eat loads of ice-cream in the dead of winter - meri manmarzi :P my wish ;)

Lootera, as I have stated in the other review, it would have been alot better had it been released as a musical instead of a movie. For when we call it a movie, the expectations of audiences is very different from what it would have had been if it were a musical.
Problem probably lies in the fact, that in a country like India, where the drama and action movie sell, a musical, especially one like Lootera, might not sell at all...

However, this is the review that I intend to write keeping in mind the movie, with respect to its songs!!

First and foremost, why do I call it a musical?? - There is a simple reason to it. No offense, I myself love the song, but songs like Badtameez Dil, are more in the industry today than meaningful lyrical songs. Somewhere the music of Indian Cinema has excelled in terms of the music, the instruments, the quality, but the vocals, well, they have definitely deteriorated. No, its not that we dont have good singers. There are plenty of good, rather brilliant singers but the lyrics has lost its meaning.
Think about it like this - the song 'Tum hi ho' from 'Aashiqui 2' ... yes, the voice is mesmerizing, the music fills up the heart with all sorts of emotions... but what about the lyrics. Does it really tell about the feelings of the protagonists?? Think again.. If the same song, same tune, same singer.. and instead the singer just kept humming along the tune, the meaning or the popularity of the songs wouldnt have reduced much.

I dont mean to offend anyone, but honestly, with such music today - the songs of Lootera are a good relief.

Mostly, set in the golden era (as it is called), the songs have a little touch of the styles of legendary singers - Kishore da and Lata Mangeshkar, and the music of the era that they had set.
There is something soothing that occurs when you listen to the songs. The words, not only they are in accordance to each and every character of the movie (mainly the hero-heroine) but they can be easily related to by anyone of their age.

Let me take you to a journey down the musical journey of Lootera...
The story starts and takes us to the post-independence era of Bangal. If you still can't feel the nostalgic essence of that place, try listening to Sawar Loon.
Our lovely young Paakhi, meets Varun and he charms her right away. As any girl of her age would, she feels the need for his attention and so she dresses up well, makes excuses to pass by him,

Suddenly, everything around her has changed and looks beautiful than it ever did. She has no idea why is this happening, but there is something about everything that makes her happy. Everything makes her remember Varun. And with Varun staying in her house, her house looked brighter than ever, like her life, that now imagines Varun as a big part of it.

Further, it's been epic in the Indian Movies since the 'Salman Khan' hit - Maine Pyaar Kia, love is best expressed as letters and communicated with the help of birds. 'Dove' - the angel of peace and similarly in India, 'Bird' - playing the cupid :P...
There is a will to tell Varun that she likes hum and at the same time, she wishes that he would just understand. Just like the birds, they would sing it out loud, to the entire world, however, there is only one in this entire world who would understand it... and maybe, what the birds are singing, Varun has written this message for her and sent it through the birds, which she now is listening to...

Next, we see... Paakhi, being the bolder of the two and love-struck, adapts everything she can while watching Varun whenever he is home. One day she sees him with a canvas, and inspite of knowing how to paint, she insists on learning from him. He agrees and later it is proved that he cant paint. However, it was his dearest wish to learn to paint and so he learns and she teaches...

As Paakhi and Varun grow closer while Paakhi teaches Varun how to paint and then they start sharing their conversations, feelings, thoughts, etc... we enter the beautiful and calm face of Bangal....... There is the small bays, a lone wooden boat riding on the still water, long drives towards the sunsets, strolling on the endless fields covered with trees on either side of the path, long sunsets, endless conversations and what not! The most beautiful of it all - the silence that has spoken out the condition of both the hearts!

Before we know next, they both are in love, they both know, they both know that the other person is in love too, its just they are yet to give a name to the feeling. The emotion is there, they can both feel their hearts beating a little faster in presence of the other, but still, it remains unsaid. All confessed, yet unsaid.

 Varun falls equally in love with her. He has seen her in her best trying to catch his attention, he has seen the artist inside of her, he has seen her paint with all passion, he heard her laugh, he heard her inner most wishes, he saw her sick... and most of all, he saw how beautiful as a person she was!! There was simply no going back from where he had come along in life with her.
He, however, is threatened with the thought of what he might do to her when he leaves her after looting from the temple; but then when she confronts him, he confesses his love and decides to marry her.

However, the story takes a sharp turn, when Varun gets influenced by his friend and partner and leaves Paakhi... alone and devastated.

We see a alone, sick and tired Paakhi, who has lost from life. She is alone... her father died and she couldnt find any reason to go on either. She is slowly waiting for an end she feels she is destined to.

She shifts to her other house, trying to find some peace in herself. She tries to write her story. She remembers all the moments she lived with Varun, desperately wanting to free herself from the memories that once made her life worth living but now tormented her beyond measure. It was like life had torn her into two parts - one that would always love Varun and the other that wanted Varun out of her life, as fast as possible.
In a way, Paakhi had given away any desire. She wanted nothing, totally nothing. Rather, she wanted to give away....

But then, just as she discovered that she was ill with TB.. and decides to die, Varun is thrown on her doorstep, by destiny. Not only Varun comes to her house and they live under one roof, but he starts taking care of her. This is something that she wanted last. Where, she wanted to die, Varun constantly was giving her life.
Eventually, her heart took over her mind and the part of her that would love Varun again, started dreaming again. Despite all the pain and troubles that she had been through, she was dreaming again... dreaming of a life with Varun..

Just a few days back, when she got the news that she had TB, Paakhi had joined her life with a tree that she looked at from her window; It's leaves all withering away, one by one, in the cold and stormy weather. She had decided that as and when the last leaf of the tree will fall, so shall she take her last breath. But again, with Varun around her, somewhere her heart skipped a beat... again.. She started dreaming again... She had desires again...

It was like waking up from numbness after a real long time and she couldnt help it.

She wasnt in any fight with herself, she was just not expecting what was happening to her. Somewhere, somehow, her heart did whatever it wanted and she went along with it....

Eventually, Varun got to know what she thought. He was disheartened that she had lost all the will in herself... especially the will to live.. the will to dream... His act, had not only broken her heart but it had made her scared.. scared to be with anyone, that in case, again she be left alone. He decided to do something.. Rather do everything he could. She was definitely the girl he loved, the only one he ever loved.

It was very clear to him that there was no life for them together, so he decided to stay and create his masterpiece - her happiness!

Varun hadnt lost hope. He had just gained it. Every day, as it passed, he was closer to the truth that he would meet his end very soon... but there was no seeing back. This was the only time when he was doing something for himself. One time, that he wanted to do what his heart said and not only to meet his monetary gains. Paakhi was a hard case, though. He kept tryng and trying.. And then, there came a day when finally she did something as a weakness.. She saved him from Police...

That day, he realized that he was very close to his destination...

That night, Varun confesses to Paakhi that he loved her and loved her very truely. And just for a matter of hours, together, they lived equivalent to eternity.
